Ben Donaldson (rugby union)

New Zealand preserved rugby’s established hierarchy with a 50-19 blowout victory over Australia that secures the Bledisloe Cup for a 24th year and pushes the All Blacks’ unbeaten run over the Wallabies at Eden Park into a fifth decade

Wilson had enjoyed one of his best Test performances until referee Andrea Piardi gave him a yellow card for a high tackle on South African hooker Malcolm Marx

The 28-28 draw in Mendoza will go down as a lost opportunity as the Wallabies enjoyed a two-man advantage for the majority of the final 10 minutes, but a breakdown free-for-all and a couple of handling errors in the rain allowed Argentina to take time off the clock

Since then, Noah Lolesio, Tom Lynagh, James O’Connor, Tane Edmed, Declan Meredith and Gordon have all been given the run-on assignment

Ben Donaldson remains on the bench while Gordon will play his third Test since returning to union

At long last, after no fewer than ten Tests when the Wallabies had proved themselves more than merely competitive against the best teams in the world, only to lose on nine occasions, this time — THIS TIME — they showed what they are capable of, by recording a wonderful 57-10 win over Italy

Brumbies rookie Declan Meredith had a tough debut against France last Saturday but has been backed by Joe Schmidt

Immediately after the Brisbane Test he referenced Italy holding the All Blacks to 14-10 at half-time

If the Wallabies beat France in Brisbane on Saturday, debutant Declan Meredith should stroll across the road from Suncorp Stadium and order a celebratory beer at the Last Man Standing Brewery

Tadhg Beirne will captain Andy Farrell’s side in their second Nations Championship game

Gordon has been ruled out of the next two Tests against France and Italy, while Donaldson was running laps on the adjoining Ballymore field wearing a compression sleeve on his injured leg on Thursday

First, Max Jorgensen fired a wild pass into touch after the Wallabies had created space

His stock had fallen so low that inside centre Hamish Stewart, who had played just 10 professional games at five-eighth, was selected to fill in as the reserve No.10 at the Stade de France
