Attorney General Rob Bonta, Bay Area officials warn of dangerous misuse of e-bikes

Brooke Jenkinssan Francisco District Attorney
We need to be making sure that what is on our roads are safe, not only for the rider but for vehicles and pedestrians who are sharing sidewalks and roads with these e-bikes,
Lyanne MelendezaBC7 reporter
Then you have the Class 2 e-bike. I have these pedals but I don't have to use them because I've got a throttle,
What they are looking for is to get on the scooter faster, make more money,
So in some cases there are bikes that are sold as Class 2 bike that then can be 'unlocked' or 'jail broken' so that they go over 20 miles an hour, that's against the rules,
Lyanne MelendezaBC7 reporter
This gives me a little bit of assistance, a little push but only when I pedal,
From my perceptive, what we're dealing with here is an enforcement issue more than a classification issue. We already have the classification, the problem is that the state has very little recourse for people who are moving there bike into the e-moto category,
We really want cooperation with certain departments like police department to give a broader education about these things. We don't want anybody to get hurt,
I welcome enforcement, and I think that most effective enforcement will be at the border that the things that are being imported are proper and legal and safe,

Disturbing details on how teen was believed to be killed released during D4vd's court appearance

D4vd allegedly purchased a body bag, two chainsaws and an inflatable pool on Amazon after the teen's murder

Neama Rahmaniformer federal prosecutor
If you're looking at the three sets of charges, the mutilation of a corpse is the least serious. So, if they can somehow fall on that and avoid either the sex crimes or the murder itself, that would be a huge win for the defense,
Sadly, some treated this as if it was entertainment. It's not entertainment. It's a tragic life taken in a very brutal way. A lot of people involved, a lot of care and concern, as well, expressed over the case. But, we've taken it very seriously, and our goal is to be able to preserve evidence until it gets to trial,

I'm not saying that Charlie Kirk is a Republican or Democrat. I don't take it that way. I look at the way that he is dedicated. He is sacrificing to do what needs to be done for our country, and he is a patriot. Those are the things that I look at,

I thought the king owed that to the survivors, given his brother's serious allegations of abuse, and I thought it would have been an incredible moment and statement to show that it doesn't matter how much wealth you have, how much power you have. No human being is dispensable and the survivors deserve justice. He unfortunately declined that request,
